Obituray Ad against Drink Driving Stirs Debate in Singapore.
I saw this ad. I thought it was creative. At least it got the message across.
But seems like it did not go down well with all Singaporeans.
We are an ironic bunch.
We complain we live in a boring, restrictive country. Quite when someone comes up with a new idea, we are never receptive.

Recently I got a missed call from an unknown number – 67290103. The call came during office hours. I was worried that my staff could need my help and had called me using the client’s land line. At the same time, I was worried that it may be a telemarketer.
So I goggled. And I discovered this website, whocallsme.com.
Bingo!
It was a telemarketer indeed!
And so the story ends here =P

This is the first time I blog about readers’ stats but no, it is not going into the First Timez category because it doesn’t feel appropriate.
I do not usually get a lot of readers, mostly friends (and I did not tell many friends about this blog unless there was a valid reason) or passer bys. I doubt I have any followers but if you are, do identify yourself =)
Recently I blogged about Jack Neo’s Affairs because I found his choice of mistress unbelievable. I did not expect it to be a hit or my readership to skyrocket in anyway, I merely wanted to speak what I thought.
Along with the stats, there were also a long list of words people had searched for that led to my sites, the referral links and the links people had clicked on my website.
Inline with my skyrocketed readership, the day immediately after I posted Jack Neo’s Affairs also became the busiest day in my blog history.
I actually went to read thru the Jack Neo referral links. There were many who just wanted to get a share of the limelight by blogging about this affair for the sake of blogging to generate traffic (at least I have learnt something new about blogging). There were also a couple who gave their 5 cents worth on this affair, purely from there own perspective. I prefer the latter of cause and I have listed my favorites below:
The Bane of All (Extra-marital) Affairs, the Latest Being Jack’s.
Happy reading!

Recently, someone, upon hearing that I have a army of slaves working off their assess for me, asked what’s my leadership style.
I jokingly replied, I am a dictator. Yes, I am joking because I can’t remember the different leadership styles frequently mentioned in management textbooks when that question was posed.
So, I decided to research and analyze my own style just in case this question was raised again.
I goggled leadership styles and to my surprise, I was shown a pretty different list.
According to changingminds.org, there is actually a difference between leadership and management [here]. Yet they are not exactly different, there are several areas where they overlap.
So, what are the difference between Management styles and Leadership styles?
Managers have subordinates.
Managers have a position of authority vested in them by the company, and their subordinates work for them and largely do as they are told. Management style is transactional, in that the manager tells the subordinate what to do, and the subordinate does this not because they are a blind robot, but because they have been promised a reward (at minimum their salary) for doing so.
Managers are paid to get things done (they are subordinates too), often within tight constraints of time and money. They thus naturally pass on this work focus to their subordinates.
”
Leaders have followers
Telling people what to do does not inspire them to follow you.
Leaders with a stronger charisma find it easier to attract people to their cause. As a part of their persuasion they typically promise transformational benefits, such that their followers will not just receive extrinsic rewards but will somehow become better people.
After reading the article, I realized it wasn’t wrong to call myself a dictator in a way. Because I always expect my staff to do as I say, which is not wrong either according to the theory above.
Which manager doesn’t? Does that mean everyone who attains the managerial title are all dictators?
Then again, where do management and leadership overlap?
To digest what I learnt and to put it into my own words, Managers cannot use money to motivate staff all the time, sometimes, managers would need to use charismatic leadership styles to buy hearts and lead staff down a difficult path.
Now that I have researched, I definitely know how to answer when this question is posed again =P

It is the first day of CNY and we are all expected to stay up late. The Chinese believes that the older we stay up, the longer our parents will live.
I was surfing around while staying awake and waiting for my nail polish to dry.
I read some trashy stuff like Dailychilli.com as and when I had time and this time, I happened to see that this particular Malaysian website had been hacked, right on CNY’s eve.
The hackers are totally bo-liao .
