By the pool at Angsana Bintan
It all started because L had booked a room for a weekend getaway for W at Angsana Bintan for her birthday and I was “invited” to squat with them for the weekend,
I was quite uncertain whether to join them on Friday (i.e. to take the ferry from TMFT with them on Friday, and tagging onto them for the resort transfer) or Saturday (i.e. to go on my own and find my own way from the Bintan ferry terminal to Angsana resort). This is because my job was filled with alot of uncertainty. I still cant plan my life.
So came Thursday, the meeting was cancelled postponed and I immediately changed my ferry ticket to Friday to depart with L and W and applied for leave (the first time in my new job)
Because of all the uncertainty, I decided to buy the ferry ticket for Saturday morning first. For those who are unaware, you can actually buy Bintan Ferry tickets online! Just google and it will show up!
I asked around (not any tom, dick and harry, but directly from the people who are behind the Bintan development) on how to get from the Bintan Ferry Terminal to Angsana. I was told to take a bus! I may or may not need to pay. Alternatively, I can take a taxi.
People seldom have to worry about transfers on the island because everyone will guai guai book a room and let the resort arrange the rest.
Being the kiasi Singaporean, I did not dare to take the taxi simply because its afterall an Indonesian island.
Actually there is nothing to worry about.
If you are going to be a squatter like me in future, you can just approach the resort counter after disembarking from the ferry and you can buy a bus transfer ticket on the spot. There are also trustworthy taxi services that can send you to the resorts for a fixed fee.
There is really nothing to worry, Afterall I know those people. I wonder what got into me then….
