I am finally packing again! It has been so long since I last packed my bag, I need to think very hard where to find my packing list!

Halfway mark

This is one of those totally random post. I am sitting in front of my net book. I am running out of sites to surf yet I refused to get out of my seat.

We are nearly halfway thru the year.

Somehow, I always fall sick on this week each year (it was the same last year).

I have not been updating my blog because nothing worth blogging about happened recently, which is pretty sad.

Yet, some how, I am unable to lobo for too long. Looking back at the last 6 months, my life is not any less hectic compared to last time, i.e. when I was still an auditor.

Monday – Japanese Class (Proud to say I am half way thru Intermediate level now)

Tuesday – Bikram Yoga (I have signed up for another 50 sessions, after nearly using up the 20 sessions I signed up for initially)

Wednesday – meet friends night/facial night/free night but I am seldom home early, cant figure out why anyway

Thursday – Japanese Class again, same as Monday night

Friday – same as Wednesday nights

Saturday – Japanese homework day/Meet friends day

Sunday – Oh my, Sundays usually starts with Bikram Yoga at 10.30am, followed by JLPT N5 prep class at 1645. By the time I reach home, I am brain dead.

Finally sitting for my JLPT N5 this Sunday. Cant wait for it to be over, to regain my freedom from Japanese on weekends =(

Yesterday, I had one of the funniest SMS exchange with this self-proclaimed dude. It went like this:

Me: Wah, Dude! You PMS today? (every time this Dude takes MC, i claim it is due to PMS)

45mins later,

Dude: Haha, In US today.

The last time I heard from this Dude was barely 18 hrs ago and he said he was still working hard at that time.

Me: Kns! What good life?!?! How come so good can go US?

Dude: Haha… My frens bought me cheaper tickets. Now hv promotion anyway

Me: Holidays?? Kns!! So secretive again! So how long this hols now?

Dude: Haha… Just one day la… I m coming again end April… quite fun leh

I was totally shocked at this point. Go US for one day at friends’ expense? And still go again at the end of the month? This is a total chao con-ster, how on earth did I know him?

Me: Huh? Am I reading correctly? U in US now? United States? Or u drunk liao type wrongly?

Dude: Universal Studio la auntie…

Me: Uncle, that one is called USS!!! Generation gap sia..

Dude: Hahaha.. US everyone else also understand la… Gap your head.. We same generation ok

はたしはきょねんの11がつにとうきょうへいきました。とうきょうでかいしゃのひとにあいました。

じむしょとホテルはしぶやにあいました。ホテルはとてもべんりてした。ホテルからじむしょまであるいて10ぷかかりました。かいしゃのひとはしんせつです。とうきょうの11がつてんきはさむかったです。

まいばんしぶやでごはんをたべました。それから、かいものしました。しぶやはとてもにぎやかでした。レストンとデパートがたくさんありました。いつもらーめんをたべました。ときどきすしをたべました。にほんりょりはとてもおいしかったです。

めいじじんぐうへしちごさんのしゃしんをとりにいきました。めいじしんぐうはこどもがたくさんありました。

1かいわたしはひとりでとっきゅうでよこはまへいきました。よるのよこはまはきれでした、がしずかでした。

1かいわたしはともだちとかわごえへいきました。かわごえのかしやよこちょうはいろいろなおかしがありましたから、おもしろかったです。

わたしは 4しゅうかんとうきょうにいました。この4しゅうかんはとてもたのしかったです。

Ya, I am hooked on Cityville. There has been no news of my next trip so far. And with the new sales manager joining our office in the middle of this month, it made travelling even tougher =(

So, I keep myself busy by building my own city!

Recently, they have added CNY quests to Cityville, which is what I used to occupy my 5 days CNY break.

They have also added new business, one of which is a Dojo.

So what is a Dojo? I actually have to google. According to wikipedia:

A dojo (道場, dōjō^?) is a Japanese term which literally means "place of the way". Initially, dōjōs were adjunct to temples. The term can refer to a formal training place for any of the Japanese do arts but typically it is considered the formal gathering place for students of any Japanese martial arts style to conduct training, examinations and other related encounters.

The concept of a dōjō as a martial arts training place is a Western concept; in Japan, any physical training facility, including professional wrestling schools, may be called dōjō because of its close martial arts roots.

Understand? No? Neither do I. I only know this will just become part the Chinatown which I am building =P

The Real Ippudo

I was going thru my dashboard one day and I realised there was quite a bit of traffic directed to my website when people search for “Ramen at Mandarin Gallery’”.

Back then, when I first started going to Mandarin Gallery for ramen, I couldn’t recall the name of the ramen shop at all. I was bad with Japanese names, and embarrassingly, I still am.

So, much to everyone’s envy, I got the opportunity to visit the real IPPUDO when I was on my first work trip to Tokyo last month. I headed to the one at Ebisu. It was only suppose to be a short walk from Ebisu JR station, but ok, we got lost and we took a good damn ONE HOUR. That will be another story in future when I am in the mood to blog about it.

The Japanese menu on the wall. But no need to freak out cos they have English menu if you ask!

This is the main difference between the Ippudo in Japan and that in Singapore. They serves such condiments on your own. Four types, garlic, ginger, the greenish one is hot! and seasoned bean sprouts. Ippudo in Singapore does not serve these.

The regular serving The much needed extra noodles (after the one hour walk which was absolutely not needed! Most Japanese ramen outlets do not charge for extra noodles BUT IPPUDO DOES! Angry! And, yo, I added the seasoned bean sprout condiments

So final verdict?

Walk into any ramen place in Tokyo and I am sure they all fare better than Ippudo!
