My citizenship card in the maids’ cafe!
The Maid on the street.
Ok, if you want to visit such maids’ cafes in Akihabara, you really need to speak Japanese or have a translator with you. But that shouldn’t stop you from trying your luck in meeting a maid that speaks simple English =P
I walked in one without knowing what to expect.
I entered a lift that brought me to the third floor, where this particular maids’ cafe is located. When the lift door opened, sweet looking furniture in pink and red greeted me.
We were led to this seat at the end of the cafe. This maid came over and introduced herself as Vanilla. She was holding an electric candle in her hand. She explained that we are supposed to countdown from 3 to 1, and she will blow the candle. Once the candle is lighted, we have immigrated to a brand new world where we are the princesses and princes and she, the maid.
We placed our orders. I gladly ordered an ice coffee without much thought.
When my coffee was served, I was asked how many milk and sugar I want in my coffee. She, being the maid, added the milk and sugar for me. She was suppose to stir the coffee for me until I instruct her to stop. And the instruction to stop is actually a super cute gesture from me. She refused to stop until I gestured… argh!
The men were not spared! So you can imagine how hilarious they were!!!!
That was not all, we were not allowed to start drinking until we chant a magic spell that will make our drinks more delicious!!!
Our beverage allowed us to stay in the cafe for one hour. During the hour, we were thoroughly entertained with what every customer were made to do with their orders! Those who ordered cocktail were tekan-ed the most! The maids around the cafe all sang a cute song from wherever they were standing, the guest was suppose to do some cute hand movements from his seat and the rest of us had to clap along!
Luckily photo-taking is not allowed within the cafe!
